That poor child I hope he can learn to heal in time. As for the monster who did this, he got off lightly in my opinion. I just hope he gets his just desserts in jail. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Zid has to say "goodbye"... For now...
by ziddina inmy computer-support service has checked my computer because it's been rather "glitchy" lately, and the hard drive is failing.... so, i'll end up being cut-off from the board, for a while.... some of you have my personal phone number, if you need to get in touch.... **********************************************************************.
here's something else that's been bothering me.... we're going to fly out to see the in-laws soon - and i'm very uneasy about flying.... if something should happen to me, could you people please help find good homes for my animals???
they are all indoors animals, have been spayed/neutered, and are pretty good with dogs.... there are six cats - the seventh one, minx, will have to be "put down", as she is slowly dying of feline leukemia, and is far too "high-maintenance" for anyone else to care for.... but there's chomper - a neutered male, six-toed cat, somewhat feral but ferociously loyal to anyone who will be patient with him - and feed him wet food... he's a big, short-haired grey-and-black tabby... unfortunately, in the process of the hard-drive decay, my computer no longer recognizes my crappy printer, and so i can't load a pix of chomper... but he's a big cutie!!.

Have a good trip Zid, you are going to be fine. Breathe in some lavender to chill you out, and take some music and reading material for the flight.
I love dragons. But being Welsh, I should.........enjoy zid!

"You have instant friends wherever you go"
by AwSnap inremember hearing that at the meetings?
i find it ironic that the same can be said for ex-jw's.
wish they'd say that at the meetings!.

I remember a sister sitting alone every lunchtime at work, she didnt want to mingle with non-jws at all.
One day, after she was seen eating alone for several monthes, another employee figured she was shy and walked over to ask her why she sat alone every day, and why she had no friends. With a mad glint in her eye she proudly exclaimed in a strained voice "Oh I have friends! I have 7 million!!"
Except the reality was, she didnt. And she still sat alone for lunch. What an incredibly lonely existance.

The general atheist meaning of life
by mankkeli ini have posted this on another forum where i mentor on spirituality and i am posting here again.. when things like spirituality are no longer present in one's life, they may or may not stop looking for meaning.
meaning is an essential part of human psychology, though some feel the need for it less than others, and even a few seemingly don't at all.
there also seems to be a trend that occurs: in the lack of a meaning of life, the brain tries to find one, because it sees a purpose for everything.. .

I didn't marry a "pagan" said my wife
by NVR2L8 in18 months ago when i told my wife that i no longer believe the wt teachings and that i had attended my last meeting, she said that everything would change because she didn't marry a "pagan".
so after a short moment i told her that i understood her reaction, but this would be the only time i would not act on such a comment - the next time i would simply pack up and leave.
isn't it strange that the one who is supposed to be in the "truth" is the one who is ready to forfit our marriage, when in fact the bible tells christian spouses to remain with their unbelieving mate?

Wedding rings have Pagan and mythical Greek origins, does she wear one?. Keep your cool now ok. Wish you all wish for yourself, and hope one day your wife wakes up as you did.

Sparks are gonna fly in my home
by marriedtoajw inas i've mentioned in a previous post, my wife has been sending mixed signals to me for years on what she does concerning violating jw rules.
what i didn't mention at the time was that she has also gone through gung ho sprees from time to time.
she is now insisting on taking the kids to the hall.

Remind her you are head of the household. I hope you manage to give the kids the relevant info they need to make an informed choice. Do as much with the kids as you can, show them what life is about. Love them. Love your wife. I agree with the last paragraph of Carlas very good post above...kids learn by example. Hope things work out for you, take care

More Young People Are Leaving The Organization!
by minimus ini've heard that another 2 people have left the "truth" as soon as they could get out.
both girls were elder's daughters.
they aren't elders now because they were somewhat problem teens.

If 67% of kids leave, and the rest are aging and dying, it MUST be dying as a whole.......mustn't it? Not in my lifetime though I guess.

My story in more detail
by freshstart inso as i stated in my first post, i was born to witness parents.
from early on, my parents were both quite fanatical about the "truth.
" we couldn't even eat lucky charms cereal because they thought it had satanic connections.

Welcome to the forum, we are happy you are here x
Your story nearly broke my heart. Im so glad you are out, and many congrats on becoming a mummy, what a wonderful life your baby will have with a kind, loving, and caring mum like you x
Since your father is still serving, and is in a position of responsibility, do you worry about him abusing others? Would you consider informing the police about the abuse you suffered for such a long time?
I wish you everything you wish for yourself, glad to know you x
